Fuel gauge stuck on empty, cranking but not starting

I was recently away from work and had my battery run down, I've replaced it with an identical one but the bike is now not starting. On turning on the ignition, the low fuel warning comes up and the gauge displays 0 bars of fuel despite being full. The bike cranks fine, but it is not firing. I've tried walking it around and shaking from side to side to see if it would register the fuel in case that was the issue, but still nothing. Has anyone else experienced this?

Not experienced this myself but have been told that if you remove the battery you need to set the date and time first ??

Fuel gauge needs to learn first after you started and drove, that's not the root cause.

Did you pull the clutch lever? If you don't then it won't start. But not sure if it does not crank at all then.

Yeah bike won't crank if the clutch is not pulled

Luke, how did it go? Assume you don't have a bricked bike still?

Regards the fuel gauge.. You cut the power, the gauge goes to 0 on startup. The bike won't start measuring until you've driven a couple of meters.

Got the bike back yesterday, fuel pump valve had come dislodged and was flooding the engine whenever the ignition was on
