    Service Cost

I recently had the 660 serviced at 6400 miles as its a year since the first run in service. I was charged 250.00 uk pounds which is very expensive for an oil & filter change. I was told the next service would be at 10,000 which again would be 250.00 and would be less than a years riding. The major service at 20k is over 1000 pounds !!!! because of the high service cost from Triumph I have decided to sell the triumph and buy a second hand Honda CB500 to travel to work.
the service on my ford car is around 200.00 which includes a lot more
Good buy and good luck oh they did change the head stock bearings as these were worn out, my front wheel has never left the ground.
    regards

You were mis-informed by the dealer - if you've had an annual service, and hit the 10K in the interim, you don't require the full service - just the Wheel Bearing check at 10K.

    Owners Handbook, page 88:

    Motorcycles travelling less than
10,000 miles (16,000 km) per year
    must be maintained annually. In
    addition to this, mileage based
    items require maintenance at
    their specified intervals, as the
    motorcycle reaches this mileage.

(Wheel bearing is the only item at 10K that isn't on the annual service schedule).

I just had my annual service. Not cheap by any means. 360 EUR for oil and filter change and a squirt of chain lube. For that price I'd expect gold certificate of authenticity, full tank of petrol and a foot massage.

Got the sidestand recall done at the same time and the software was supposedly updated. Still no rider's name anywhere on display.

On a positive note I had a loan of a bike for the day (my dealer is joint H-D, Triumph and Ducati).

Surprisingly disappointing. Feels like grown up Deauville with a bit more power. Sounds very 'meh', and no excitement in the ride despite all the tech onboard. I was delighted to be back on my Trident.

    Greetings
    Eryk

I agree. My classic Porsche service at the main dealer is cheaper. And they wash the car as well.
