Cover and helmet lock
on: April 06, 2021, 06.31 PM
Hi,

I ordered a bike cover and it's way too big. Has anyone ordered a cover they like that fits well? Also, has anyone added a helmet lock they can recommend?

Thanks!

Is that a bike cover for use outside or garaged bike? I use an garage bike cover from my Tiger 800 which is toooooo big but doesn't matter in the garage. But outside I assume it would have to be fitted. As far as helmet locks go I just use a thin 'security' cable with combination lock, as a deterrent really.

It's for inside a shared garage. Probably 400+ cars and motorcycles and not a ton of room. It's for keeping off the soot. And do you ride with a cable hanging off the bike? There's not much if any storage room on the Trident...

No wouldn't recommend cable hanging off bike while traveling. The cable and lock I have is tightly coiled/sprung with combination lock and the coils are about 3.5 inches diameter (cable diameter is 3/16in including protection) and stretches out to 5ft, I have had four helmets secured to my bike when out riding with friends, then when not in use it recoils, as in pic.  :028: This fits in my jacket pocket quite comfortably.

I have a Dowco UltraLitePlus, size Medium. It fits like a glove.

I ended up getting this one in medium from Amazon. In the past two weeks, it's held both the rain and snow at bay.

This lock is light weight and has great reviews.
It's the one I use.
